The mileage tracker that
doesn't track you
Most mileage apps run in the background 24/7, logging your every move whether you want them to or not. WayPal works differently — nothing happens until you decide it does.
Try WayPal Free →What most mileage apps actually do
Before you install any mileage tracker, it's worth knowing what you're agreeing to.
Always-on GPS
Many apps request "Always Allow" location access and track your position continuously — even at 2am on a Sunday when you haven't opened the app in a week.
Battery drain
Constant background GPS is one of the heaviest battery consumers on a phone. These apps quietly drain 15–30% of your daily battery without you noticing.
Data as a product
Aggregated driving data — where thousands of people go, when, and how often — is commercially valuable. Some apps' business models depend on it.
The WayPal approach
Simple principle: your phone, your data, your choice.
✗ What WayPal does NOT do
✓ What WayPal DOES do
You are in full control
Tracking has two modes — both require an explicit action from you.
Auto mode — you start it
When you tap "Start Shift", WayPal begins watching for movement and logs trips automatically. When you tap "End Shift", everything stops — immediately.
Manual mode — no GPS at all
Prefer to log trips yourself? Enter the date, start location, end location, distance, and purpose manually. WayPal never accesses your location in this mode.
Our privacy principles
Three commitments we make to every WayPal user.
Minimum necessary
We collect only the data required to provide the mileage tracking service. Nothing extra, ever.
Your data, your control
You can delete any trip, export all your data, or delete your account entirely — at any time, instantly.
No selling, no sharing
Your location history and driving patterns are never sold to advertisers, data brokers, or third parties.
